I want you to do the following in groups of two:

• Define and explain Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
• Exactly how is this figure determined?
• Explain how "trade deficit" (net exports) is subtracted or added to achieve a total.
• How does this trade deficit subtraction affect the US? How does it affect a nation like China?
• Also explain the difference between GDP and per capita income; the US is #1 in GDP but not in per capita income. How does that work?
• Finally compare the GDP of the US with that of other nations. Who are the top five in the world in GDP? Compare some top GDP nations with some smaller or medium ones.

Your podcast should be about 2 - 3 minutes long with informative and appropriately placed images.
